If you couldn’t get enough of the amazing size and scope of Breath of the Wild then luckily Nintendo has been working on DLC for this title. If you bought the expansion pass you would of already been treated to the Master Trials. This included not only new items and corresponding side-quests, but also a hard mode and the Trial of the Sword. The aforementioned trial allowed you to unlock ‘the true power of the Master Sword’ by completing several chambers of challenges, starting completely naked! As good as this first pack was, many of the fans would of bought the pass for the second part of the DLC, the Champions Ballad. In this second part, Breath of the Wild will see a new story arch and a new dungeon that is related to the original plot.
However, some fans are skeptical as to whether we will see this game extension by the original advertised date, holiday 2017. Brief footage released in June showed that development was still in its early stages.
Youtuber’s and Nintendo fans Commonwealth Realm have put together a theory video that summarizes their reasons why they believe the second part of the DLC will be delayed. It comes up with some interesting technical points as well as looking at the pattern of development for the original game.
As a big Zelda and Nintendo fan I wouldn’t be too disappointed if the expansion was delayed. After the recent Nintendo Direct and release of Metroid: Samus Returns and October release of Mario Odyssey … we have plenty to play! But jumping back into Hyrule again for a new adventure is always top of my list of things to do.
