Breath of the Wild deviated from the traditional Zelda structure in a lot of ways, but the most jarring to me was the removal of dungeons in favor of Divine Beasts and shrines. Many Zelda fans, myself included, were not happy with this change. As part of their “After Breath of the Wild” series, Commonwealth Realm examines the strengths and MANY weaknesses of the Divine Beasts and proposes how dungeons should be incorporated into the next Zelda game. Commonwealth Realm suggests reducing the number of shrines to 60 or 70, then adding around 10 or so dungeons. These dungeons would be divided into several types, from traditional Zelda-style dungeons to more open-world dungeons like Hyrule Castle.
