Nintendo has released the first official patch for the Nintendo Switch version of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Version 1.0.1 was released on October 24, 2019. According to the release notes, the patch fixes an error where Marin would stop moving in the Toronbo Shores area, causing the game to lock up. The patch will download automatically if you attempt to launch Link’s Awakening while connected to the internet. You can read the full patch notes here .
I am excited that Nintendo and Grezzo appear willing to continue to support the game, but I am a little disappointed that the patch does not address Link’s Awakening’s glaring performance issues. Hopefully a future patch will tackle the game’s one major flaw. Still, it is nice to see that such a game-breaking bug has been fixed!
