It seems like a complicated and dizzying task, recreating the layout of an expansive Legend of Zelda dungeon using Mario Maker 2 elements and tools. Add to that the actual creating, building, and then playing through each of those dungeons, and you’ve got a project that was clearly made with a lot of passion and patience! YouTuber BeardBear has uploaded a video demonstrating the four Divine Beasts from Breath of the Wild in Super Mario Maker 2 for the Nintendo Switch! The levels were designed by Ryden R., and this video is an eighteen minute journey through a wonderfully bizarre mashup of Zelda and Mario that doesn’t seem like it should work, but it does! The creator does a great job of translating small details unique to each Divine Beast, like the Ice Blocks inside Vah Ruta and a hanging chest in Vah Naboris. I thought the recreation of the proess used to get inside each Divine Beast was also very clever, and ever resource in the builder was used to its fullest to make everything as accurate as possible. There were some genuinely neat puzzle solutions and fun jump tricks scattered throughout, and plenty of Super Star destruction! If you like interesting, creative, and innovative Mario Maker OR Breath of the Wild content, this video is perfect for you. Check it out below!
