I had no idea unboxing videos could be so entertaining! Watching this dude just geek out over the contents of the package really builds up an energy and makes me want to buy it, personally. YouTuber Austin John Plays‘s humorous commentary and careful examination of the entire box was so fun to watch, showing that innovative spirit we’ve come to expect from Nintendo’s creative staff. My favorite part was easily when we saw that the chapter covers look like the loading screen from the game itself (but of course no Master Mode orange – which would be a neat concept for future content honestly: “Creating a Champion: Master Mode Deluxe Edition”?) It was also cool to see Austin John’s little office and all his various other Nintendo collectibles. I feel there could have been much more time spent looking at the book and showing us up close the art pieces and that gorgeous map, a second person would have provided a more dynamic unboxing experience and might have helped to slow the process a little so those of us watching can enjoy. A short introduction about when the box was published and some thoughts from the creators would have been nice too, and the music can definitely use a punch up next time. His merch is actually pretty cool – I would rock that sweatshirt, and it would make a great gift for any BotW fan in your life. Bonus points if you buy the Champions box AND the sweatshirt! Overall this is a 3/5, simply because it was too short and fast paced for me personally, but Austin’s reactions and joy over the unboxing were definitely real and wholesome and that’s what makes being a Zelda fan so great. Keep speaking your passions and slaying Bokoblins, mate!

See you next time!
