No Amiibo Needed to Unlock Zelda Gear in Skyrim for Switch

Many of us were thinking that you would need certain Amiibo to unlock Link’s gear in Skyrim, but that does not appear to be the case. According to Finder, they received word from Bethesda (publisher of Skyrim) that players without the compatible Amiibo will still be able to acquire Link’s gear (Champion tunic, Master Sword, and Hylian Shield).

If you scan the compatible Link Amiibo, you have a 20% chance of unlocking the Zelda gear chest. If you don’t get the chest, you will still be given a drop of loot containing things like armour, weapons, food, gold and gems. You can scan the Amiibo once a day. You can also access the Zelda gear chest by reaching the summit of The Throat of the World, Tamriel’s tallest mountain.

Skyrim releases for Switch on Friday, November 17th.
