I must admit, I was expecting a lot more humor in this video, given the channel’s handle, or at least some tipsy giggles between friends maybe while playing a ridiculously complicated game, but no such mirth was to be found. However, the folks at SNES drunk have put together an incredibly informative, well scripted, and trivia-filled video breaking down Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, which was just as interesting as watching a drunk person try and play SNES games, honestly. It covers every aspect of the game, from fight controls to music, and also explores most of the critical flaws that have caused it to remain largely avoided in the gaming community. I found that the video really hyped me up to try and play Zelda II, as it showed me a lot of things I hadn’t known about the game before and presented it in a fair, unbiased light, facts only. Kudos to SNES drunk here for making a previously sort of blacklisted game look appealing and relevant, even decades later. And thank God for save states!
