Hello there everyone, been a while since you’ve heard from me, eh? Rest assured, I’m working on something really great, but you’ll have to keep waiting for a little bit longer. In the meantime, take a look at something fantastic by somebody else: some immersion tips by GameXplain for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild VR. Now, obviously those of you who don’t have the Nintendo Labo VR can’t relate to this video, and to you I say: get it. For $40, I got it, and was sufficiently impressed with how well it worked, and the premade minigames didn’t look that bad. The Labo VR kit has some major potential so I’m jumping on the hype train early, but I digress, as you’re here for Zelda.
Now prior to writing this, I tried the Zelda VR mode, and I will say these tips do help quite a bit, as the experience is a bit jarring. It reminds me of the PSVR game Moss in how it controls, it kind of feels like you’re watching a little mini Link (Minish Cap VR please!), but after about a half hour I start to feel dizzy, so play at your own pace. One tip GameXplain DIDN’T include that I’d also keep in mind: keep your screen and googles clean of dirt and fingerprints. The resolution of the Labo VR is pretty low, so visual obstructions could cause some issues for you. Get a microfiber cloth like what you use to clean glasses with and keep your stuff tidy!
Check out the video below, and let us know how you like Zelda VR, because I’m very excited about future possibilities.
